Linseed Field at Emmington
Emmington is near Thame and I saw this field while out on a bike ride last summer, it looked like a lake! Apparently the pale blue flowers only open for a short time every day.
Linseed is a very versatile plant also known as Flax and is grown both for its seeds and for its fibre. Various parts of the plant have been used to make fabric, dye, paper, medicines, fishing nets, hair gels, and soap. Flax seed is the source of linseed oil, which is used as an edible oil, as a nutritional supplement and as an ingredient in many wood finishing products. Flax is also grown as an ornamental plant in gardens.

January 25, 2012This is just great to watch and learn from (hopefully). we wish we had paints and paper to try it NOW but, alas, they are all packed away for now! We hope you will continue to do this step by step so we can try in future months!
This is such a good idea to encourage people to get to know and want your paintings!
