Bluebell Grove

I saw these bluebells up at Aston Wood near Stokenchurch a couple of years ago and did a small sketch called 'Bluebell Wood' which I have just sold (see under 'News' - 'Three little preparatory sketches'). This final acrylic painting was made using that sketch.

I have always liked the feeling of looking 'out' of the forest onto the light with indistinct distance beyond which adds to the mystery and magic of the scene.

Love this pic, well done. I am going to change the wall at the Belmore centre in the next couple of weeks. The next subject is Landscape (from the traditional) (another one will be Landscape towards Abstraction) – if you can think of a better word than traditional that would be good, ie opposite of Abstract. Anyway I would like to come and collect some pics from you maybe 6-8 so I have a choice and the above or similar would be perfect. How about Thursday morning the 8th or Friday late morning / afternoon the 9th August?

Thanks Antonia – How about naturalistic, representational, objective, realistic or figurative
